I was never convinced that Trump actually ever wanted to ban it. It more that he was jumping on the scaremongering bandwagon created by US interests when they saw how popular TikTok was (and how much better it's algorithms is at retaining engagement).

I stand corrected. Based on reporting on CNN which may have been the vote on the first ban bill but regardless, this was a bipartisan bill supported by a large number of Repubs. I know what TikTok has done to make Trump the savior is bad for Dems I don't like this take I see that this is Dems fault.

They are the ones who banned it. Why wouldn't we blame the party in power for a bill they overwhelmingly supported are the brainless drones with no agency? At the end of the day it's Joe Biden's signature not Trump's.
