I would think the expense of these documents, being that they are disproportionately required, would amount to a poll tax and would be unconstitutional. However, we can no longer trust the courts, especially in red states.

They did something similar in Florida awhile ago for driver's licenses. I had to prove my citizenship going back to my birth certificate, marriage license(s) and divorce decree. It was a crazy hassle. All this even though I had a Florida DL since age 15.

I like to point out that a kid is more likely to get shot at school than a non-citizen is to vote. Not even sure if it is close. We should be asking them if gun rights are more important than voting rights? I just want to hear the twisted logic answer.
