IMO it will take a pretty poor set of CPI figures out tomorrow to not have the RBA cut rates in 3 weeks

They need the 2 months off to think of some bullshit reason to not cut rates. This will continue on until after the election when Dutton is elected and a series of rate cuts miraculously happens.

Looking at the previous couple of years it looks like they take January off. So it was only an 11 meeting year previously.

Two week shutdown being quite standard I can understand halving the time to make decisions (assuming a shutdown, there’s reasons against one). But having 2/3?

yep, always took Jan off because it would've been first Tuesday in Jan, which would've been a bit silly. But they could have met today and it would have been 6 weeks since the last meeting. And I have yet to hear why they should not have
