The number of high school students I know who gamble is startling. Two years ago, my freshmen boys were wagering on a online game of soccer-playing trucks that they played. This year, I learned about a couple of boys betting thousands with their grandmother's credit card.
It's as ridiculous, absurd, contrived and as fraught with ulterior motive sophistry as "originalism" in the legal field.
Perhaps they should study "some economists".
on the off chance you're serious (or a reader is), normal psychology is psychology of cognitive illusions, fallacies, and other stuff (some) economists can't imagine.

And rightly so. Well, not with the ciggies so much, but whatever, never mind.
But, sadly, many economists (half?) who agree with that point disagree with Krugman's subsequent point.
Krugman navigates the ambiguities well. He strikes the right balance.
