I've seen these in Bath too! My in-Laws gave us a piece by the same artist (albeit not a greyhound) as a wedding present. It *might* Muhmood Tahir. (I've just checked it but there is no maker's mark.)

Seriously. I’ve been looking for a pretty bisque figurine - but it is so hard! The head has to be perfect - a proper grey, not rounded like an Iggy. Can’t be sitting no matter how nice, because mine never sit. I’m a bad customer.

The fun, and frustration, is finding the piece that resonates with you. I have two pieces that made me weak in the knees when I saw them. I bid aggressively, especially since the auction was a fund-raiser for our adoption program.

Are both of these yours? I love, love, love the sculpture. One of ours was a very successful racer. The other one, not so much. He looks powerful but it is an illusion.

Glad you like it! The statue is actually Fiberglass, painted by Sharon Crute, an equine artist in Florida. She used to have a blog post about the project, but it's not currently on her website. 😔 We've had five greyhounds, but the one who was the worst racer had the biggest ego. 😊

So you are in Florida, then? We are in eastern Canada, and got our greys from a local rescue that brought them up from Florida. They bring a few from Ireland now, but not like
it was before - 30 at a time every few months. They are the best dogs, despite everything.

Actually I'm in Tennessee. The statue was donated to our greyhound adoption program's annual fund-raising auction. Our program closed two years ago, when racing ended. The casino owners had allowed us to use a kennel onsite for nearly 30 years.
