"The McDonald’s where Luigi Mangione was spotted and detained is .... across from a Popeye’s, a Sheetz convenience store and a Jersey Mike’s sandwich shop "
It's not that murder is acceptable, it's that every legitimate attempt at fixing the Healthcare system is stymied. The industry fights tooth and claw to deny access to medicine. People are desperate and angry. The fact that it took a shooting to get a conversation going says something.
I'm trying to figure out to what level moral degradation has occurred in our society while I wasn't paying attention. I think any act is contextual, but when the context is a society that has free and fair elections, then cold-blooded murder for a political end, is terrorism.
I think some of the glee about this murder is a delayed rage reaction at the results of the election. Like it was a way to strike back at the right. But it was just a murder by a seemingly confused and clearly amoral young person.
Mangione is not a revolutionary. He is naive, probably mentally ill, and a murderer.
Do you really think his killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson will change how for-profit insurance companies do business?
I am prepared to state unequivocally that this man was with me at the Library at the time of the incident. I am sure there are many others who will swear they saw him there as well.
Some murder with guns, others with pens.
Some are brought to justice, others get bonuses.
Both kill yet we're only interested in hunting down and prosecuting one. Go figure.

A muscular suspect?
A compelling unsub?
An intense alleged perpetrator?

📌 It’s more like maga-like fascism.
There are recent threats openly made against the person who called the police.

Hopefully he gets a fair jury that has a lot of denied coverage by their health insurance.
