The 1.5 degree target has been passed and the world still believes that green growth works. So stupid. We need a green economy that gives nature its opportunity to live its life and humans the opportunity to continue walking on Planet Earth.
We need to essentially run a wartime economy but with the focus being decarbonizing rather than fueling the war machine. Have factories cranking out rail, renewable energy generators, sustainable building materials.
Instead of trying to operate under business as usual until the economy breaks.
I pray for everyone espically the firefighters and hope that that orange sack of sh$& shuts up about blaming people and programs and grows a set and leads them out of this…. But he is an orange sack of sh$& so I ain’t holding my breath
Well, for one thing, when there is not enough water, it should go towards protecting people and houses and not shopping malls owned by rich developers. And public firefighters get all of it before one "private" firefighter gets an ounce of it.
1. In some instances, localities shutoff power because the Santa Ana winds could knock over trees and cause power lines to break and spark, starting a fire. Without power, water pumps don’t work.
2. Nobody expected this level of widespread disaster.
3. The reservoirs were over-full.
2/2 the mayor and the fire chief said lack of water had to do with demand at too many nodes on the grid. Some water stations probably didn't have electricity in some cases but that wasn't the bulk of the reason for these series of events.
It's alarming to hear that water systems are struggling to keep up with the intense demands of fighting wildfires, especially as these blazes encroach on residential neighborhoods.
I wrote a book that explains how we can fix all these issues. "How to Save All Humanity". Available on Amazon Kindle. It lays out a plan solving all the major issues we are facing.
Condensed version: Quarry Megalith stones to build buildings with thermal mass, making them ~indestructible and super efficient. Quarry said stone to make aquafers for energy storage. Build these communities along existing major roads for future mass transit.

And the number of planes and choppers available to mobilize.
We had 2 good rainy seasons. We have enough water. We just need to get the water on the fire.
