As a Californian, is it just me that has a little resentment reading what we should do, and how fire works, written by those who only know asphalt? I understand they have a job to do but...

Get rid of asphalt roof shingles. Get rid of all trees and bushes within 10ft of the house. Put metal siding at least 2 feet from the ground up to stop grass fires. That's what they told us.
Javi, that is not in their DNA... For most europeans taxes mean civilization but for American people is not like that. On the other hand, they have an army to defend themselves. We relay on NATO (USA) to do so. Many things to learn from each other noadays... Many hazardous scenaries ahead
