After years of decline, the Christian population in the U.S. has been stable for several years, a shift fueled in part by young adults, according to a major new survey from the Pew Research Center.

If only half those self-identifying "christians" actually followed the teachings of Christ, you wouldn't have a senile cult leader as president. Just sayin'
Critical thinking skills should be an important part of the education process. The ability to ask questions, to seek context & view things holistically are skills that must be exercised.
Shamefully we're not putting people in positions of power that have any of this & it may be trickling down.
I'm sorry, but i can't understand people that believe and support this fairy tale religion. I will NEVER support any fucking hypocrite that backs Trump and the KKK. To me, it's the equivalent of Scientology.
Indeed; the U.S. continues to be an immense disappointment - full of willfully ignorant, homophobic, misogynistic, racist, moronic religious death cultists. What a shame. This is what happens when we defund education...
If one were to count true Christians, those who believe in Christian canons and who endeavor to live out Jesus' teachings and commandments, then the figures would be decidedly different. We should not slap the label of "Christian" on a group and call it accurate.
Hopefully young people will give Christianity a better reputation. Evangelicals have really damaged it. It's easy to see republican evangelicals clearly serve evil and don't practice the teachings of Jesus.
Either using Christianity as an excuse to condone or engage in hard-hearted abuse of other people does not make a person Christian, or Christians are terrible people.
They are enemies of soldiers, Veterans, people who get Social Security, people who get Medicare, people who get Medicaid, people who want help to pay their taxes, people who do not want to die from pandemics.
This is why people should not vote for delusional nutjobs.
All this is ridiculous. Jesus was a philosopher that was sold as a god by his students after he died. The religious Jesus was poor and if he is returning, Trump may have just sent him back to his country or is presently in Guantanamo.
"christians" can all fuck right off. Anyone who voted for that cruel inhumane Orange Buffoon has lost any right to call themselves a "christian". Christofascist is more appropriate title. They all just hide their hate behind their bibles they have never read.
Christians are having kids -- lots of kids. But atheists and agnostics aren't having any or one or two. We know this world is in for a world of hurt, which Christians are in denial about. Good luck, kids. Jesus ain't comin.
It’s counterintuitive, but it appears less Christians = increased support for minorities, the vulnerable, society writ large. More Christians = Kill DEI, tax cuts for the rich, fuck the poor.
It seems many Christians seem to have forgotten what Christianity is *meant to be* all about.
There are a lot of hate churches that tell their congregations to support the far-right, and to be OK with lying, fraud, adultery, sexual assault, a coup attempt, and now, the dismantling of everything that regulates oligarchs or helps the poor.
These young conservative so called Christians are not real Christians they are evangelical ones who say they are Christian but their actions don’t back it up. Hate & division are not what Christ preached. Loving our neighbors & compassion for others were some of the things he taught us.
