These firings across the federal government are causing real and severe damage upon our neighbors, friends, and relatives who are every day. Americans working to make their government better. trump’s actions are clearly not making America great again.

NOAA will no longer be providing hurricane, tornado, or other catastrophic weather forecasts. That way Trump can deny when one does happen, not allow the media there to document it & then not provide any support💀
Ugh. Former NOAA employee here. NOAA is essential agency. This cannot be happening! Perhaps I'm grabbing at straws, but Judge Arlof ruled late Thursday that OPM cannot select employees for layoff. Perhaps Sec Lutnick doesn't agree with Project 2025's plan to destroy NOAA. Everything changing so fast

Mortifying. Members of my own family argued, saying the "hype" about Project 2025 was the Democrats trying to cause panic. They didn't disagree that there's horrible "stuff in there, and he [Trump] isn't going to do it." They will be harmed right along with the rest of us. Still, them defend him.
Total nonsense! The states cannot handle a national weather service, because the states get their realtime info from NOAA! If it’s privatized, owners would be bias and hold back valuable reporting! We need independent, non political entities when it comes to disasters, especially hurricanes.
And don’t forget that flood insurance is underwritten by the feds, for now. If the government is cutting off its weather service and emergency response duties, almost guaranteed that they’re going to stop being inclined to pay out for flooding.
Yah at some point even the amendments became some mythical thing and then it was decided “don’t touch it!” - even though the world around us changed and they did leave a mechanism in place to AMEND, for a reason….

NOAA very literally saves lives in tornado country. When the derecho hit Iowa in 2020, it came so fast we got about 20 minutes of heads up time, thanks to NOAA. Literally could have saved my family's lives. It was a beautiful sunny summer day and we were all outside.
