Can we get more coverage of how expected this was right from the start? A few public health types pretend it was unforeseeable and suddenly no one remembers how to fact check.
I'm not a doctor or a scientist, so grain of salt, but anecdotally I know people who developed serious food intolerance after coming down sick with Covid.
Mast Cell Activation Syndrome is among several disorders that are common after Covid. MCAS is a type of allergic response which can include a myriad of triggers, including gluten. Red wine is a common trigger, and you'll see a LOT of people who can't tolerate it after Covid. Heat is also common.
Very possible, it's caused me many problems with food intolerances, it seems to have altered the chemistry in my gut, taking probiotics has helped with that
It's made a friend of mine allergic to perfume believe it or not she's been hospitalised about five times because of It!
Hello! I am aforementioned partner. :) All I know is I had unprecedented levels of brain fog and fatigue that got noticeably better when I stopped eating gluten. I'm still waiting to actually get tested for celiac but we shall see!
On a good day I might be able to walk my dog, but still end up stuck in bed. On bad days, I can't even get up to get to the bathroom. Not to mention the brain damage, constant pain everywhere, tinnitus, five different flavors of dysautonomia, etc.

3 years and I still haven't gotten my life back.
