It’s hard to imagine an American home without Chinese products. Many essentials are imported almost entirely from China — and with new tariffs, they’re likely to become more expensive. We analyzed import data to show where Americans may see product shortages, fewer choices and price increases.

The rest of the world are treading carefully so as not to risk annoying the childish behaviour of the US President, and taking advantage of his miscalculation.
USA’s enemies are also laughing at the incompetence
But you won't, will you?
Yes, tariffs are a perfectly fine technical term, but in practice far too many Americans have no clue what they are being threatened with.

However China manufacture tech products that are essential in modern day life, eg: components of computers, healthcare equipment, automobile parts, electronics, etc
There are no USA companies manufacturing some of these, nor does the USA have the workforce capable of this production.

The framing of this is all wrong.
Also, 5000 Chinese companies operate in the US and 235 are listed on US stock exchanges.
China also owns majority share in 1000s more.
Trump is the most powerful person on planet earth but his 5th grade knowledge of most issues like economics is extremely dangerous! It's not sustainable!
PAY ATTENTION
to the “Made in…” tags on your clothes that you put on… think about HOW that came to be… and notice the stitching, the craft - how much would you need to be paid to put that garment together?!!
I’ve visited Cuba a couple of times and I was in hospitals to see + hear the LONG struggle to rebuild without any components made in USA… DJT has essentially put an Embargo on US -what we did to Cuba - it’s INSANE (definitely not as bad cuz we can still get supplies somehow, but…)
