Infantilism.
Dunderheads at public institution in deep blue state demand to be entertained by muppets.
If not, there's no guarantee they will pay attention to what is being communicated.
The cynical graduates don’t appreciate the wit & wisdom of Kermit or the variety show he hosted, the movies & songs as much as their parents and grandparents did.
Jim Henson was a genius to them.
The Trump Admin thinks the university of Maryland isn’t white enough for them
Well, it appears the University of Maryland has finally reached that stage in quarantine where even puppets are considered to be renowned orators. #NoMuppetLeftBehind
Wow! How beautiful a tribute to Jim Henson and the students at his Alma Mater.
UM College Park is just outside DC. I have strong memory of the 1st time seeing Kermit on TV when I was a little girl - an early a.m. local PSA about something or other. All I remember is loving this talking frog! ☺️🥰
Those poor students that have to sit through some right wing nonsense-- looking at you, who had to listen to Gestapo Barbie-- must be eating their hearts out. Well done, Kermit!
Statler: Hey, there's a puppet speaking!
Waldorf: The orange one?
Statler: No, the green one!
Waldorf: Well, he's better appreciated than the orange one.
Statler: Not that hard, I'm better appreciated too.
Statler and Waldorf: Doh hohohoho!
This is the best moment in the life of all students, as someone said, the best life is, of course, the student life, my congratulations to all of them!🧐😜🤪😍👍‼️👏🫶
*While I regard this as "cute,"* I personally would NEVER have attended a commencement with a *cartoon character as "speaker."* The fact that a school of any caliber "needs" to DUMB DOWN their students, is a poor indication of today's education. *If this were a play in a theatre, then OK.*
I graduated in 1979 and I would have loved an entertaining commencement speech from Kermit the Frog than the boring blah blah blah speech I sat through.
What an amazing message and to think they are going to try and take Sesame Street away when it has been such a positive impact on generations of children
I worked for Jim Henson productions for a short while. I have
Been in the Big Bird suit! He was loyal to his original puppeteers. Happiest place on the planet
I love Kermit, think about this. He is essentially a "sock puppet". A sock puppet who has more living brain cells and firing synapses than the entire Republican Party combined! Kermit for President!

And the little green woke frog has spoken! I am enamored by Kermit’s charming and insightful philosophy on life. 🤗 Congratulations Class of 2025. 👏🏽👏🏽🎓🎓
Given that he's currently attacking universities, diversity, and our entire country and that NYT helped by sane washing his rise to dictatorship, I'd say their every post is fair game for attack and ridicule
Yes Drew, that’s my point. NYT doesn’t get to pretend they are ok by printing this fluff piece. They sold out. They stomped on their own ethical commitment. F em.
This made me so happy to see. And sad too. These kids are going to be slogging through so much hate and stupidity and it’s our fault. I hope they can make it. They look so happy and hopeful
This brings such joy, fun and laughter with the serious message of humanness and loving each other. What a marvelous & clever way to present a commencement speech and the crowd absolutely loved it and listened. So wonderful‼️
This made me tear up. I love Sesame Street so much. It’s the backdrop of my life and I feel bad for any kids that never watched it. I hope these students listen to the life lesson.
He’s is right.
Kermit is always right. 💕
Congrats 2025 🎓
Wish I got Kermit at my graduation. Instead we had a convenience store chain CEO talking to us about AI and how human interaction was special. Could not even give us free sandwiches
Much more relevant than an incoherent political rally that couldn't even start on time. Kermit is infinitely more qualified and capable than all the cabinet summed.
If I was in attendance at anything where Kermit said life’s like a movie, write your own ending, keep believing keep pretending, I’d cry for the rest of my life. It’s not possible to quantify the significance the Muppets had in my early life, and how much I still try and live by that mantra.
Let’s replace carrot top with Kermit the frog. I’m confident that Kermit would do a way better job than the whole Republican/maga party. Trump ain’t never gave a speech of substance, the frog have my vote

Then it's a solo act.
Stick your homilies where they fit, Kermie.
BOWL HALFTIME

You’ve carried Trump water or whatever fluid he’s full of.
This has literally nothing to do with politics, let alone Trump.
Next Friday is the last day of school. I decided to do it today, since next Friday will be tearful & chaotic.
I used clothespins to hang rhe crittets to the chain link fence.
It was a surprise & a success!
He’s is right.
Kermit is always right. 💕
Congrats 2025 🎓
