Just picked up a bottle of wine at the LCBO and asked some questions.

Q: have your sales gone down since US alcohol was pulled?
A: NOT AT ALL!

Q: what are you putting on shelves for US alcohol?
A: Canadian products only.

The big US producers had clout and brand recognition. There’s only so much shelf space. So now that shelf space has opened up, it’s opening doors for smaller Canadian producers.

Sure, but I’m seeing lessons learned here. Canada can be great at so much. Saying ‘that shelf is reserved for local/domestic’ goes a long way. 🇨🇦

I love that too and that Ford’s destructive policies to undermine the LCBO have not succeeded in crashing it. Wonder how all those private sellers are faring now with their unsold stocks of American liquor?

Still Waters Distillery and Last Straw Distillery in the GTA both make great whiskies.

I am not affiliated with either of them beyond having written reviews.

If you lean towards Vodka, then Black's or Beatties. Gin, you simply MUST try Black's, from Peterborough.
