Apologists for Starmer's woeful 1st 6 months have been trying to frame criticism of how bad Labour have been as some sort of Tory media conspiracy.
It isn't.
Those of us on the Left have good reason to be disappointed.
However there's this @bylinetimes.bsky.social article being shared. 🧵

This is actually a good thing. Sort of.
Apart from one major problem. To avoid taxing the wealthy, and to push scams like Carbon Capture, Labour are now just running a less blatant form of Austerity. The disputes are not going away.
Labour have helped increase household incomes. Unfortunately with by refusing to tackle profiteering from Energy Companies, and to undo the consequences of Brexit; Living costs are rising faster. We need wealth taxes rather than subsistence welfare.
To be fair to Labour this is actually something good. The TUC Response on this is positive. It needs to go further but it is a rare instance of Labour actually remembering why the Party has the name it does.
This one unfortunately is a scam. Wes Streeting is massively funded by the Private Sector and many of his improvements are basically spending taxpayer money on corporate thievery from companies like the notorious United Healthcare.
Let’s start with the good stuff. Improved Renter’s rights is definitely there.
This is another reason this woeful list from the @eastangliabylines.co.uk is just so poor.
A long list of “achievements” all undermined by the harsh reality of Reeves Austerity 2.0 and Starmer’s corrupt cabinet.
Trying to tell us it’s all unfair because of things Starmer has achieved when the evidence is he’s a miserable failure just feels like very poor analysis.
He’s failed to impress the Reform voters he grovels to; at the price of losing the Left and even the Centre.
It’s just unfortunate the UK doesn’t have an insurgent like SYRIZA to shake things up.
The same issue that happened with PASOK in Greece, the SPD in Germany and the UK Labour Party (especially under Blair). They took corporate money to lose their conscience.
Which alienated core membership and robbed their parties of energy.
However we do have to acknowledge that Starmer is mostly shit.
Especially as he refuses to tackle the Tory media. In fact he even lends them credibility by writing for them.
The evidence is overwhelming against him on that one.
He hasn’t reached Boris Johnson levels but he’s giving David Cameron some competition on that.
As well as the dubious relationship with Blackrock and Palantir.
