Indeed! Urban mushrooming is a thing. Gardens, Parks, the tiniest patch of grass next to a road... mushrooms everywhere including the edible and the educational kind.
New video drops, and itβs four hours of tripping over hidden obstacles, tumbling down ravines, and being chased by enraged squirrels, but as you lay in the mud, thereβs a chanterelle
We used to have mushrooms growing from the wooden framework of our old Morris Minor in the 70's. It also had physical indicators; little arrows that were mechanically lifted away from the sides to suggest our proposed direction. It had a crank shaft at the front, to get it started on cold days.
I found some black jelly fungi on some fallen dead branches and some turkey tail. Had to do a double check on the jellies to make sure they were the edible kind lol.
Well⦠I live near Melbourne, Australia so a bit different! I would love to learn about local fungi though. Do u know of any Aussie mushroom people to follow?

Have you looked?
I certainly don't have all the exact same kinds, since different continents and all that, but I've seen a lot of beauts when I've been out in the woods on walks and such
I don't know mushrooms, so I just admire, nod, and move on tho
I have to say, I really love your pictures and posts! I live in SWFL these days, and I have never seen so many - and so many varieties of - mushrooms as grow in our area!
Afternoon Luke, mushroom sightings are such great fun. Sometimes I look down in the snow and other times up in the air.
Thanks you sharing your adventures Luke.
Happy holidays, Guy
Your welcome Luke delighted To add the visual to your day.
They are quite remarkable, that birch reached the end of it's life cycle but the polypore have taken up residence so I am disinclined to cut it down. Keeping at one with mother earth in my modest way π.
