PHP is literally just a wrapper around C and we use CGI to make it run on web servers (like we did with Perl many many moons ago)

i guess i just don't see what's worth the extra effort when you don't get all of the fancy apple libraries and frameworks, but i'm not knowledgeable enough to know about like low level features and how they compare across languages
