Sonic 3 is actually sonic 4 because Sonic CD is a prequel to 2. But canonically Sonic Mania is sonic 4. Is what I LIKE to think but actually sonic advance is sonic 4 because in sonic 3, Sonic was a mix of his classic AND modern design, meaning he was already growing into a teen/adult. So sonic adv.
