And America would have gotten stomped the second they landed if Russia hadn't held out and kept that front open. It's almost like collaboration and cooperation were required to win the war.

The Pacific Theater largely consisted of naval battles and multiple fronts. But also, not at all relevant to my point. Americans & British opened two fronts in Europe, starting in Italy. They were able to amass forces because the Russians were holding the line. Those fronts helped the Russians.
