Considering the VW Beetle's Nazi origins, Herbie Goes Bananas is refreshingly light entertainment.

I liked Herbie Goes To Stalingrad, which I think was the last of the franchise.

For the full Spezi experience cut the Fanta 50/50 with Coke. German waiters will sneer at you for ordering it even though it’s on the menu…. (It’s a great drink btw).

The 2025 remake, Herbie Goes Nazi, features a Tesla and is nowhere near as funny.

A self-driving car with fascist origins? An idea ahead of its times.
