π¬ Am I missing something here? 1) Obviously gene expression is often one of the intermediates from genotype to phenotype; this is not a new concept; 2) Gene expression is a quantitative and categorical phenomenon and thus not a "type", 3) Are we going to call all molecular intermediates *types?

This is a very cool paper, but the science would shine brighter without the somewhat forced attempt to dress established knowledge as a new concept via awkward terminology.
Epigenesis is the opposite of preformationism (aka the Inflating Homunculus theory)
