The generalization that reduced exposure to germs during the pandemic, hygiene practices, increased screen time, and environmental factors may have contributed to kids getting sick is valid, but I also worry that limited access to vaccinations could have a more significant impact down the road.
Children are exposed to PFAS (forever chemicals),pesticides through food and water, lead through a variety of sources, chocolate being the most recent, and micro plastics that we now know are showing up in placentas. How can this not be part of what is causing these health issues?
Recently discovered that most of our waterproof raingear produce PFA/PFOAs and yes, it does end up on naturally undisturbed rivers as well as the ocean 🙃 so as much as we can attempt to prevent consuming these, they find their way into us 🥲
Sadly it doesn't end there, some of these items in Canada may have PFAS in them as well. Toys, play mats, pacifiers, and board books for kids under 14. I often wonder about dollar store kids' toys. A search reported no, most aren't. There are studies if you want more information.
Ignorance is bliss right? 😅 I do love learning about anything and everything but it also makes me quite sad. I hope we’re able to figure out some sort of solution, and soon. Are you able to drop links on this platform (I’m relatively new here!)
Welcome to bluesky, it's really nice here. I block anyone who is rude or ignorant. Most are, however, really great. You can debate like normal human beings. Yes, I think you can, but I'm not sure how it's done. I'm quite new here as well.
