Every time the U.S. elects a lunatic demagogue, Canada sees a small talent benefit. I was born in Canada because my father (a university Professor) was chased out of the United States by McCarthyism. Trumpism will probably dwarf that brain drain.

They really do. Have just gone through this process, and my wife having gone through the separate but parallel Nurse Practitioner process, there could have been a much simpler process to get us practicing without jumping through so many hoops.
