Unfortunately the propaganda has been very successful. My sister lives in the Okanagan and she is surrounded by still very rabid Cons. My friends tell me the young men in their lives all believe Poilievre and his stupid 3 word slogans, they have been targeted and need to be dissuaded.

The Okanagan has always leaned more conservative. I’m not sure if it’s more based in religion or because of the large population of seniors. Maybe all the transplants from Alberta?

The Liberal party needs to reach out to the NDP and the Bloc. They need to appeal to them for coordination against a common enemy. Vote splitting would allow PP to give Trump the keys to the car and we will never get to vote again as a US territory. Some deep thinking is required this election.

The way to stop it is, corny as it may sound, through education. Awful as things are, recent events have provided us a very real teachable moment. Democracies breed an inherent complacency that encourages citizens to believe "it can't happen here." Truth: That's a fallacy. Ask any sane American.
