For the hive: I am actively seeking shorter films to try to bring more filmmakers into class. Three standbys I use regularly in my teaching are Ja'tovia Gary's GIVERY DOCUMENTARY (SINGLE CHANNEL), Mariama Diallo's HAIR WOLF, and Wanuri Kahiu' PUMZI. I'm also probably doing Andrea Arnold's WASP.

My second class this semester is also sort of new(ish) — Contemporary Women Filmmakers. The class is 50/50 split between U.S. and non-U.S works, all post 2000. I really, really, really wanted to make it more global but, alas, I lacked the bandwidth to do the work necessary to responsibility do so.
