I saw a big truck with a big blue flag last week in my side mirror and tensed up. When it passed, it was a Dodger flag. I hope someday I won't have such a negative response to big flags.
It's so fucked up that when you see someone waving a flag these days outside of July 4th or a sporting event, you can usually peg them as a fash. They completely coopted the flag for their BS movement. It needs to be taken back.
another house nearby has two american flags out front at all times and when i walked by the other day i saw they’d put out a harris sign. i was floored.
The flag, prosecuting attorneys, loving your kids, coaching football, swearing, hunting... I guess when your rent is big enough you have all the normies in it.
We started flying a flag back in the depths of the Iraq War. Ultra-Bush (now ultra-MAGA) WW2 vet neighbor across the street was then in his 80s, I bought him a new flag every time I replaced ours, let him take old ones to VFW, joked I was just going to burn ours in the yard otherwise.
A fellow parent has been wearing the camo Harris-Walz hat to my sons soccer games, and I've been having some visceral reactions before realizing what it actually says.
I put up a flag with my Harris/Walz sign, next to my "no matter where you're from you're our neighbor" sign in Eng/Span/Arabic. Someone should take pix of all of the Harris/Walz houses with flags and put an ad together.

I put up my first ever American flag on the day Joe Biden was inaugurated. It pairs well with my Democratic yard signs in my purple precinct.
Harris-Walz 2024
We love our country, but not the aspects like white supremecy.
Finally.
Like, “oh no, giant flag, is this some right-wing enclave… hold on a minute, wait, what??”
(And then of course I had to take pictures like everyone else. People were stopping to pose in front of that place!)
I for one am happy to re-embrace my redneck roots
