Sources tell me this has begun.

Some fed employees have been advised to download their
Electronic Official Personnel Folder (eOPF) because they're hearing OPM is planning to cut off access tomorrow.

The folder includes all personal identifying info, performance reviews, benefits selections, raises.

Unclear why they'd do this.

I think it helps them control the process of firing civil servants - if you lose access to your files & don’t have a copy, they can manipulate the data and say you were low performing and fired for cause. They can figure out in which administrations you were promoted - a loyalty test of sorts, etc

As for getting fired at whim, mostly no. The vast majority of federal employees are rank and file. As such we have protections that appointees do not. With that said we’re still extremely worried about our job security. And it’s very difficult working for a corrupt regime.

Bottom line is we’re being told buyer beware. Elon offered something similar at Twitter and then reneged on the deal after people resigned. And Trump is, famously, known for not paying his obligations.

Nobody knows. They offered a deferred resignation where we agree to resign now but get paid until the end of the fiscal year (09/30/25). There are so many legal issues with this offer. We are normally capped at 10 admin days annually. We also don’t know if this is an ADA violation.

Our personnel records, performance reviews, and pay information are all on various systems. We’re worried that Elon will have his hired goons shut those systems down preventing us from getting access to our own documents.
