Grossman ignoring the medical evidence of differences in both brain and hormone receptors in trans people, and claiming gender dysphoria is 'subjective'.

The endocrine society clearly states in its guidance that being trans has clear biological underpinnings.

Monozygotic twins ("Identical" twins) are significantly more likely to both be trans than either fraternal twins or "Non-identical" siblings in general - which indicates that there is a genetic component to being trans.

There are also many examples of a parent coming out as trans after their child.

If puberty blockers pose an “unacceptable risk” to under 18s , why are Lab in the UK allowing them to be prescribed to cis & intersex kids ? Some as young as 4 yrs old.

Wes Streeting claims they cause “permanent irreversible damage”- right?

It’s a weird claim. I’ve always felt that it was puberty that caused irreversible damage. Puberty blockers (or even actual hormones!) would have prevented it.

But I suppose it fits perfectly with Streeting’s view that being trans is wrong, being cis is basically compulsory, and the only acceptable treatment for trans people is conversion therapy.

The claim about "irreversible damage" is a reference to the risk that bone density may never quite reach typical healthy ranges for the target sex. It's a valid risk, but not a pronounced or newly discovered one.

Puberty damage is definitely the more acute risk.

Quite often aiming for, and achieving stability is desirable.

My reading of the session is that the actual experts have shown, and stated thats not the case.

Giordano herself called the concerns used to effect the ban 'illegitimate'.

Will anything happen though? I very much doubt it, but its Definately a big shot across Streeting's bow.

As someone said to me yesterday, the session was in the main positive, and while nothing will change yet, yesterday was a definite foundation for use in providing scepticism on Cass.

It *should*, in an ideal world, lead to Labour stepping back from Cass and removing Streeting from health

I *hope* that those involved use it to internally discredit Cass and Streetings Ban

I suspect Labour Leadership will try to ignore it until it blows up in their faces

I'd suggest writing / speaking to your MP if they're Labour / LD / Green to apply pressure on removing the ban, which is medically unjustified.

And banning Labour from Pride.
