Probably, but at that time I was still recovering from the sinking of Yacht Rock. It was a year without a trend. Glam metal fading. Grunge not there yet. Hammer pants just regular pants. You get the idea.
I would argue the 80s as we know & love truly started in 1982 and the 90s truly started in 1992. Although ‘89 was the beginning of transition, there were still enough of the decade’s icons producing great work. It wasn’t my favorite year of the decade, but still consider it as a true 80s year.
