My 3yo son's fighting Leukemia rn and I was about to cry when that little boy hit the bell. That was until I remembered that this country said FK YOU to every struggling cancer patient with their vote.
The private sector is still going but it’s going to catch up to them if the basic research that underlies it slows down. But we have a few years before the pipeline slows. The drugs we’re bringing to approval now were on the bench in the early 2000s
Especially when u consider that if they ever DO find a cure, it will never be released, or will cost SO MUCH, that ONLY the 1% would b able to afford it.
Chordoma hasn't really responded to pharmaceuticals. The first step is cutting the tumor out. The second step is radiation. Some of those drugs are in clinical trials for end stage patients only. I'd like to find something before I get to end stage.
Have you looked into basket studies for immunotherapies or ADCs?
I’m sorry you’re dealing with that kind of a diagnosis. Anything along the spine or that involves crossing the blood brain barrier is very hard to treat

The Chordoma Foundation did get a big boost from Gary Sinese, whose son died of this nasty rare cancer. https://people.com/gary-sinise-said-his-late-son-mac-cancer-was-so-rare-there-was-no-treatment-8787791
Those are still going, nothing has changed
