But the entertainment industry can be a difficult meatgrinder. I get that the dreamers need to be shown that this is a potential career path, but I'm not sure how "noble" it is to lure people into it with a shiny party. If expectations were more realistic, there might be less exploitation.

FYI - The Oscars were created because it was all sex and violence and they were in danger of being banned. They made 5 good movies a year for cover of the stuff people actually wanted to watch.

I'm paraphrasing history but basically that's it.

I used to watch the Oscars almost every year as a kid. I started caring less and less about it as I got older and learned more about the industry.
Now there is very wide gap between the movies I enjoy and the movies involved in the Oscar Race.
