I think i like 2D platformers more than 3D ones actually, the only 3D platformers to ever really resonate with me are a hat in time, bomberman hero, several mario ones and sonic adventure, meanwhile i like so many 2D and 2.5D ones that i can't even list them with fingers on my hand - ThreadSky

2D platformer often appeal more mechanically clean tome. properly because you environment is completely visible to the player. in 3D platformers the environment behind the camera is not visible and the depth sometimes not as clean. that how i feel about it

honestly i get that. i don't agree, but 2d platformers are fun and can be nostalgic for some people since they have existed since the very early video games

i personally prefer the exploration vibes 3d platformers have lol

I get where you're coming from, there's significantly less 3D platformers than there are 2D platformers, working with a Z-Axis I assume is pretty difficult

Tho tbh I like 3D platformers as much if not more than 2D platformers, I enjoy 3D platformers more on average compared to 2D ones

It's a very high risk high reward genre where it's much easier for me to resonate with a 3D platformer that can take a lot more advantage out of its extra dimension to produce something cool as opposed yo 2D platformers which, while still fun can be inherently pretty limited
