Then funding was gradually reduced for space stuff, and a great deal of it was shifted to private companies, and this is the predictable result of all that 🙃
We were doing sooooo much cool space stuff back in the day with plans to do more, and then it all kind of got de-prioritized and outsourced. Makes me sad.
Anyway Isn’t SpaceX largely funded by the government?
And why couldn’t the government have spent that money on, oh, say, NASA instead?
