Nuclear proliferation will be consequence of the the US retreating from its allies to a world partitioned into sphere's of influence (Russia > Europe, China > East Asia, US > Americas). The only way to carve space out will be with nuclear deterrence.

More relevantly, Canada is a nuclear weapon threshold state. They’re not dumping useless dirty bombs when they could easily make nuclear weapons.
The US is the only reason they haven’t, and if the US continues on this path, it will be the reason they go for it.
