Win or lose, once it comes in the mail, I am rockin' my camo Harris-Walz hat at range days and around town to show 'em that we ain't going back. We all have a voice! That voice is tellin' 'em that we won't stand for attacks on others, for bad policies that only help the wealthy, and so much more.
My primary residence is in a rather conservative part of my state. Voting is the way to ensure that they see us progressive redneck dads are out here and want a woman President to just GET SHIT DONE!
Shaming people who are holding out because of the genocide will not convince them to vote.
Strategic voting is the right call, but I'm begging y'all to remember the lesser evils we're trying to get people to support are actually that bad. The other side is just much worse.
It's not just tankies and green party loyalists right now, it's people who have watched an ongoing genocide for a year and have emotions about that. It's also the families of those victims and those who have families still at risk.
You can feel smug or you can convince people to vote, not both.
That's still choosing their personal comfort over the safety of their own country's vulnerable community members. This isn't about smugness or superiority. It's about action.
Inaction is a choice to allow anything.
Praxis matters.
I also want you to understand that your comments are coming across as xenophobic whether that is your intention or not. Because the way they are written is implying that the lives of those in other countries are lesser than those in your own.
What I am stating is that if we allow things to become more unmanageable in our own country it won't make issues abroad any better. Not because the lives abroad are lesser but because it will make aiding them that much more difficult. Infighting doesn't help us.
A made a point to vote down ballot, too. While I'm mostly ok, that comes from a SEVERE place of privledge, and I want other people to feel that safety too.

This takes compassion.

It is not one we agree with, but it is an intentioned action. Because people think that action will in some way bring about a positive change.
