i spent the day
burning from the inside out wading in
bloodsoaked alleys
as i tried to puzzle out
how a country
working for centuries toward better
became a hellhole
of Injustice deceit
& the fantasies of madmen
& sent out rusty prayers
to whatever’s out there
for our deliverance from evil
