I’ve 12 years experience in federal grants contracting. This statement is starkly insightful! Centralizing contracting & putting AI (with easily manipulated code) in charge of award decisions removes multiple layers of human “checks and balances” meant to ensure lawful spending of tax payer dollars.

I believe the firings and the AI have the same purpose: to get humans out of the loop of evaluating contracts. To automate the process of spending government money. To rig up a computer that sends taxpayer dollars directly to the broligarchy.
