A complaint that came up for AX AA is that there wasn't much variety between years. That's why a lot of the small exhibitors last year were rotated too, looks like they targeted AA this year.

AX Cut my group's panel, Cosplay Wrestling Federation, last year because... reasons. Despite the fact that... over the course of the last 10 years, we had a consistent growth in attendance and quality, constantly being one of the more talked about panels that wasn't a main event.

My panel was just for fun, so aside from disappointment that I can't perform there, it doesn't really impact me, but I feel for the artists who's revenue was impacted because AX doesn't give two fucks about the community that created it.

I agree. The ax discord has SOOOO many new timers.

I’m at least hopeful there will be a second wave. But goddamn them… did they fuck us over.

I had below zero expectations sending in my application, so if I don’t get in, I’m not going to feel that disappointed, but the truth is, they’re cutting off a big part of my income this way, all while I’m still struggling to have a stable income.

It sucks, but this isn’t surprising at all.

When they only let ⅓ of returning artists back in last year, I had a strong feeling they were planning to replace most of us within three years and then chop the veterans program. I didn't expect them to just do it all at once like this.

Yup. A couple friends of mine who have tabled for 10+ years didn’t get in. Seems like they’re only giving way to people 10 years or less + newbies. I’m not against any of these people, but gutting almost all of us like this was a dick move, for sure.

Honestly they should have at least given a year or two notice that the veterans program was gonna end. That's a significant portion of income to just take away from people :/

I could be completely wrong, though, as I only have a tiny sampling to compare.

And to reiterate to anyone else reading this, I’m very happy for my friends and other artists who got in. This has nothing to do with my feeling that AX should have managed the entire situation better.
