It made me feel pretty emotional, tbh. Lots of older folks. Lots of signs about science and vital services from our federal workers. This should not be controversial stuff. Alsoβ*this* is a big part of the culture of this town. This is who we are.
I took some elementary teachers to visit NCAR during an NSTA convention in Denver. The work done there is absolutely essential. The teachers really had their eyes opened. They left with a new understanding of what their students needed to pursue future careers in the sciences.
This is amazing. Iβm so devastated by the loss this means to our country, my industry (energy), the world, and especially the scientists, engineers, and technicians who work there. Our national labs are our countryβs treasures - the intellectual dynamo that powers **everything**

All of this carnage is so bloody unnecessary.
