I'm too familiar with the history of Musk. I've intensely disliked him from the days when he kicked out the real founders of Tesla. I'm also familiar with Justine Musk's experience at his hands. He's a stain on humanity IMHO. I liked your article as I do most of the things your write.

If theirs was a purely transactional relationship, one would expect Trump to appear more reluctant about giving Musk free rein. But there's no reluctance, and love bombing combined with Trump's bottomless neediness is a compelling explanation for their behavior.

Trump will dump and/or betray Musk if he wants to. I mean, given Trump's own history, it's practically inevitable that he will. So Musk is useful to Trump now because everyone hates Musk more than him, and can be useful later as a scapegoat.
