I agree, thought is that when mass protests finally break out bc of the EO chaos, FOTUS will declare martial law and bring out the troops. Without good leaders and the legal eagles, military lackeys will comply. Judges won't stop him, R's won't stop him. It will be a monumental moment in history

Don't expect martial law to be generally unpopular. When the Ohio National Guard shot antiwar students in 1970, ~58 percent of respondents blamed the students. Nixon was reelected, and the Vietnam War continued for five more years.

It won't be illegal at all - that's the horror. There are statutory exceptions to Posse Comitatus that will make all of it entirely legal. And I would bet a LOT of money that Trump will use them frequently.
