How has Catholic formation in spirtuality and prayer helped our current leadership in government, courts and USA episocpate? How can we help what seems misguided formation opposite of Christ's teaching in some of our leadership? In my humble experience🕊
What advice can you offer those struggling with the crisis of faith experienced when we see so many misled brothers and sisters among us cheering for the defunding of aid programs that feed so many millions of hungry people?
It truly feels like a page out of Rev 13 when so many follow the hateful voices that call for an end to programs which feed the hungry and care for the sick, and who calls upon us to hate the foreigner. These are so contrary to what Jesus taught in Matthew 25. I worry for the soul of the nation.
Agreed. Father Martin often misleads fellow Catholics into believing that abortion is a grey area and that homosexual relations are allowed by Church teaching.
There are Christians who will die without food. Try to stay focused for a moment. Roe v. Wade was already overturned and gay people aren’t killing millions.
I’ve had a crisis of spirituality ever since the election in November. When I go to church, the words now sound like a horoscope to me - designed to mean different things to different people and therefore have no meaning at all. If the church can’t stand up now for what is right, what’s the point?
As someone who struggles with the lack of a feminine perspective in our church, how does the hierarchy explain the lifelong virginity of Mary in a marriage that was apparently not consummated?
A frustration: Certain Catholic clergy who pick and choose what teachings to follow, and are purposely vague on the teachings they don't agree with in order to technically maintain good standing with the Church but at the same time mislead both followers and non-followers alike.

what a beautiful question. i wonder if it would be neat to ask some of the most widely recognized spiritual teachers this question - which may help to further democratize the practice of spirituality. what are leading spiritual teachers uncertain about - and struggling with?
