In his Occulta De Philosophia, the 16th century German occultist, Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa, outlines a list of fifteen fixed stars to which he refers as the (pl.) "Behenii" or (sing.) "Behenius" stars.
Up until this point, one person's slovenly research has led many in Western occult and New Age scenes to accept (and regurgitate) a fallacious definition of Bahman.
I say "slovenly" because Bahman is ubiquitous both as a name and as a symbol, in the Persianate world and indeed beyond—and it doesn't take much digging to arrive at the conclusion that this word is neither Arabic in origin nor even remotely indicative of "a type of root".
