Joining the EU is not going to happen any day soon mainly because we won't be the decision maker. The EU27 will want near 100% political concensus before they want us back, they won't risk us playing the hokey cokey with them with every change of Government.

Not 100% of the electorate, but 100% those parties which have a real prospect of being the government.
And "allowed to remain" is irrelevant for countries that are already IN. I don't know if the Treaties provide for expulsion, but if they do it wouldn't be simple!

So you get round that by including inany rejoin agreement, strict standards on the democratic requirements for any 'Brexit 2.0' decision, - so 2/3rds majority, followed by a confirmatory referendum on any brexit 2 deal, as a minimum.

I would if there actually WAS a bigger picture from Labour, but there isn’t that doesn’t involve selling us out. Even the Tories couldn’t make a trade agreement that was in any way a replacement for membership of the world’s biggest marketplace on our doorstep & it was their Brexit. SM &CU now!
