something i don’t get:
i’ve been on insta for about a decade. have been posting gym selfies there for a few years, daily, the same junk i post on here. posted the poems there too before i started this account.
engagement/follows etc on there are literally 1/20th what i get on here. why?

My experience is the exact opposite.
There I had a steadily growing group of mutuals. Nothing huge by any stretch, but it felt like people actually saw my posts, always had comments, made friends and had great conversations.
Here it's fucking crickets and I'm kinda over it.
ig seems more passive and less engaged. Up until about 3 months ago this was the Wild Wild West. Honestly in my daily life I never use the word fuck unless I am in the act. Here, people punctuate with the word. Bluesky is more organic
(but it knows i like big pecs… oh does it know)
On here for example, the pinned pic of me in my new posers, in less than a day it has 500+ likes, on Threads? 6.
Mind you, even when I first started on here, immediately I’d get responses and some follows. Threads? Barely 60. Funny algo

3. Text-first vs image-first presentation and you like captions
