I don't know anything about the audiobook version but I enjoyed "Spain in Our Hearts: Americans in the Spanish Civil War, 1936–1939" by Adam Hochschild.
Everything is Tuberculosis!!! Narrated by John Green himself. Spans both history and social sciences to pick apart why TB is so rampant in parts of the world in spite of the existence of drugs.
I read rather than listened to it, so I can’t speak to the audiobook, but I wholeheartedly agree with this book suggestion! I devoured it. Fascinating book.

Stephen Kotkin's bio of Stalin is so richly detailed i gave up on the audiobook and am now reading the hardcover.
Play Nice by Jason Schreier. If you ever played a Activision-Blizzard game, it is well researched & goes into their scandals
wonderfully depressing
