While yes I am aware of the human capacity of moving goalposts, collective amnesia and the whole "wading in blood" thing from Macbeth, but, Iraq II was really recent. It's literally the same thing. Sometimes I do wonder if we've flown into a black hole and things are, as per Yeats, Not Going Well.
I live in London and have met a fair number of Iranians and they have all been warm people I could get on with. Regimes aren't the people. Nice food too. Sorry I do think through my stomach.
Have you ever read the graphic novel Persepolis by Marjane Satrapi? Its all about growing up in 1970s and 80s Iran and Europe and it was so fascinating to read!
It's a gorgeous film. It suffers from the same "book to film" transition that a lot of films have (I'm directly staring at I Am Legend) but it was a really good film. I always contended it should have won best animated picture over The Triplets of Belleville, but then I watched it and said nope lol
