It’s basically lawlessness right now; the chances of rape are far too high - lots of excited, armed young men and no source of order. And also a deeply misogynistic society that needs decades to develop I fear
loss in politics is worse than any other.. in one minute, no friends left & the next they will vilify you.. no wonder dictatorship is a one way street...
If the HTS is welcomed even in majority Alawite Latakia, who I expect to fear retribution there might really be a chance for the sectarian violence to finally end.
