He's not scared of Trump or Putin, Poland could probably take russia out on its own and the Poles remember the soviet times and they have no intention of going back.
Total sense. Spend the confiscated russian billions to arm Ukraine - there's a certain irony to that. Also - not enough is being said about reparations - Russia needs to pay for the rebuild of Ukraine.
Dear Europe and NATO members - WTF are you doing? Put 100% tariffs on Teslas. Ban X. Sanction our country with the intent of fomenting revolution. Although it seems, you are as cowardly as Dems in this respect.
the quickest Europe does this, the faster the fall of donald in the world stage and the wane in his influence to damage the world, it will cost europe, sure... but it will cost them more if they don't.. europe enjoyed Pax Americana for a long time, its time to take a lead position to save the world
“Right now, President Zelenskyy is the leader of the free world. He is the one holding up the democratic Western alliance and defending the values that America stood for until last November—values that Europe still upholds today.”

Sadly, this government has a track record of very confidently saying things they don't mean at all. Tusk knows this is what his current and potential voters want. Whether he's going to actually do anything is not a given.
Music to our ears. Confiscate the blood money, sanction everything that cones out of Russian soil and blockade every piece of shit oil vessel coming from St Petersburg!
To make alot of what Europe needs to improve it's defence abilities the UK and EU need to come to a much better agreement than what they have now. Improved trade, defence cooperation etc... is needed quickly
UK has defence agreements with most of Europe and conducts joint training exercises.
The interoperability already exists. We left the EU, we didn’t leave Europe.
A lot goes on people don’t know about; Royal Navy and French Navy do a lot together.
UK provides a lot of logistical support to France
That is true to a degree but the UK cannot improve defence spending under the present conditions and that is sadly something that is a major stumbling block. Plus we need to start looking at the big picture in Europe for defence. That requires changes in the current situation
We have decent cooperation but I'm arguing that it's one of the things that could be significantly better. The simplicity is that we can and need to do alot better
We are at the stage where everyone is talking about the need for the talking to end.
Maybe this is only 3 more years away from actually fucking doing something? 😀
Then there's BAE Systems Rheinmetall, Rolls Royce, Leonardo, Steyr, Glock, SIG Sauer, Sako, FN, Kongsberg... what have you. I must've left out most of them actually
Patria has increased its output capacities in baltics for example and Nammo is going to build a new explosives factory in Norway and it finishes one primer factory in Finland this year. Surely other companies have been working in increasing their production capabilities.
Rheinmetall, BAe, and others can probably ramp up and the South Koreans have huge military manufacturing capacity and will probably be happy to sell to Europe
An article in De Tijd, a serious Belgian financial newspaper, states that these frozen assets are mostly not Russian. When you performed a transaction with a Russian bank or the Russian Central Bank at the time of the invasion, your transaction got frozen

He posted that on this site too, only in his language. Thank you "translate" button! (But could you do it automatically from now on please? That way "they" don't know what I'm translating)
I would like you all to know that for we Americans for whom those shared values and 75 years of friendship and prosperity actually meant something, those European calls to stand up and fight the fascists are extremely attractive. If you want your demographics fixed, invite us 🤝
I know immigration is hard (I've done it a few times), but there are European countries where Americans can settle pretty easily, f.ex. Albania. Not in the EU, but a candidate state afaik, and a very nice place to go to!
And frankly, I think I'd rather be closer to a country where I'm actually contributing to the fight anyway, since my native land has completely lost its fucking mind
You are welcome to the EU, however, EU has stricter immigration controls. To get a work visa you need to be more qualified than any EU applicant (similar to the US rule). You can come as a student and then find a job to stay, and how easy this is, depends on the country.
@support.bsky.team how do I save posts/skeets/whatever we're calling them? The one above is one I'd love to save on my BSky profile rather than my browser history; I can definitely do the latter, just curious if the former is planned to come along soon?
I appreciate the resource, thank you! - you guys are def on my radar and I'm sure could use the help especially w/ that low of an u/e rate, that's an economy bursting to expand but held back. Good info to know. Thank you 🤘
This is our war too and yet we cowardly let 🇺🇦 fight it alone 🤯

Europe has the technical and engineering know how, and finance to ramp up its defence. What it’s been lacking is the will to do it.

On you go Mr Tusk, still standing with ya 💪🇵🇱

27 independent efforts by 27 nations to build 27 armies is
stark. raving. madness.
We were right all along. The EU must be a political project, not only economic, if it wants to have a future.

Albania makes it easier.
