Oh yeah. De-Gausser whine on turning on a TV. Very high pitch, but not painful as it is annoying.

I meant noticing it as a neurodivergent thing. Because I used to try to talk about the whine and never understood why no one cared.

I mostly remember being worried it bothered our dog because if dogs can hear better than people, and I could hear it, it must have been really awful for dogs.

People can't hear that?

When I was coding in the 90s I figured out I could tell when a program crashed because the whine coming from the monitor changed due to signal noise from the CPU thrashing.

I also remember when they installed the security gate at the record store where I worked in the early 90s. It was so high pitched and loud! I had to work in the back of the store most of the time because it was so loud it gave me migraines and made my teeth hurt. No one else could hear it.
